Karlovac is a city in central Croatia with 59,395 inhabitants (2001), center of the Karlovac county. Karlovac is located on the Zagreb-Rijeka highway and railway line, 56 km south-west from Zagreb and 130 km from Rijeka.
Karlovac was founded in a fort built in the 16th century where four rivers merge (Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica and Dobra) with a unique shape: as a six-side star fort. The shape of this star still exists around the town. Its name is Carlstadt in German, after the archduke Charles of Habsburg who had it built starting July 13, 1579 on the Zrinski estate near the old town of Dubovac (the castle of Dubovac still exists). Zeltweg : Austri

Zeltweg is a town in Styria and located about in the middle of Austria. It is located in the Aichfeld at an elevation of about 659m and has a population of about 8189 (as of 2004). The largest river is the Mur. Larger municipalities in the vicinity are Judenburg, Knittelfeld and Fohnsdorf.
History
Some farms were located at Zeltweg already during the 13th century. The village was called “CELTWICHâ€?, its name being recorded in 1430 for the first time. During the 15th century, there were considerable difficulties resulting from famines, failed harvests and epidemics, From 1569 onwards, Archduke Charles II initiated the rafting of timber in the Mur, which gained considerable importance for Zeltweg’s history. Wiener Neustadt(hungarian: Bécsújhely) is located south of Vienna in the state of Lower Austria. It is a self-governed city and the seat of the district administration of Wiener Neustadt-Land. Wiener Neustadt city is also the “secret� capital of Burgenland.
History
The city was founded by the Babenberger duke Leopold V in 1192, who financed the construction of the city with the ransom paid for the English king Richard the Lion heart, who had previosuly been held as a hostage in Austria at Dürnstein. Wiener Neustadt, meaning more or less New Vienna, first served as a fortress to defend against nearby Hungary. (more…)

Wels (population of 56,478 as of 2001) is the second largest city of the state of Upper Austria, located in the north of Austria, upon the Traun River near Linz. It is not part of any district, but a Statutarstadt. It is also the seat of the administration of the district of Wels-Land.
Geography
Wels is located in the Hausruckviertel at an elevation of 317 m. From north to south, it extends over 9.5 km, from west to east over 9.6 km. 3.4 % of the area are covered with forest, 23.5% are used for agriculture.
