Karlovy Vary : Czech Republic

Karlovy Vary listen or Carlsbad (German: Karlsbad), the city and spa situated in the western part of the Czech Republic on confluence of Ohře and Teplá rivers. The city is named after Charles IV, who visited the place in the 1370s. It is historically famous for its hot springs (13 main and about 300 other smaller springs, the biggest and hottest at 73°C being Vřídlo, known in German as der Sprudel) and for its warm-water river, the Teplá.
The city is perhaps better known today for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Karlovy Vary is also where the popular Czech liqueur Karlovarská Becherovka is produced and bottled.
The city become infamous within Czech Republic as holiday resort and investment target of Russian mafians.
